Ephesians 3:14-21
Paul prays a remarkable prayer for the Ephesian believers — that they would be "rooted and established in love." A tree that is rooted is stable, nourished, and fruitful. So is the believer whose life is anchored in the love of Christ.
Three marks of a rooted life:
1. STABILITY. When storms come, the rooted believer is not blown away (Eph 3:17). Our convictions are not the wind of the day but the unchanging Word of God.
2. NOURISHMENT. Roots draw life from the soil. We are nourished by communion with Christ — through prayer, the Word, fellowship, and worship (John 15:4-5).
3. FRUITFULNESS. Roots that go deep produce fruit that lasts. Love, joy, peace, patience — these grow from the soil of grace, not striving.
Application: Are you tending your roots? Are you spending unhurried time with the Lord? The depth of your roots will determine the height of your fruit.
Closing prayer: Lord, root us deeply in Your love. May we be a people of stability, nourishment, and fruitfulness for Your glory. Amen.
